President Biden signed several bills into law on Christmas Eve.
One of the bills signed was the ‘Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act.’ It will hold treatment centers and care facilities serving youth accountable. It aims to prevent institutional child abuse, neglect, and death.
Another measure signed into law was the ‘Stop Campus Hazing Act.’ That creates disclosure regulations for federally funded higher learning institutions. It requires them to include reports involving campus hazing in their annual security report.
The ‘Federal Building Renamings’ law was also signed that covers name changes to several places. That includes the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Clinic in Virginia. It will now be known as the Private First Class Desmond T. Doss VA Clinic.
Biden also signed a measure that made the Bald Eagle the official U.S. bird as well as pardons for 37 federal death row inmates.
