HCFR Responds To Eleven Fires This Week

The Horry County Public Information office said it's normal for this time of year due to dry and cold conditions.

Horry County Fire Rescue crews responded to eleven fires this week alone.

The most recent fire occurred early Friday morning around 3:50am.

The flames destroyed two sheds and a camper on Old Maple Street and Allsbrook Road.

The fires come as the area experiences a rise in both structure and outdoor fire incidents.

A spokesperson for the Horry County Public Information office said it’s normal for this time of year due to dry and cold conditions.

They recommends that anyone planning to burn outdoors contact the State Forestry Commission for guidance.
