One man is dead after a crash just outside of North Myrtle Beach.

The accident occurred on Saturday around 12:30am along Highway 90 near Princeton Drive.

The incident unfolded as the man was attempting to escape law enforcement.

31-year-old Jahmeke Patrick-Gause was heading east on the roadway when he veered off the right side before striking a tree.

No other injuries were reported.

The incident is now under investigation.
