Popular Tortilla Strip Salad Toppings Recalled

The products have a best used date of June 20 and were sold across 22 states including North Carolina.

A recall has been placed on a popular salad topping just ahead of Thanksgiving.

The FDA announced a recall that covers Sugar Food’s Fresh Gourmet Tortilla Strips Santa Fe style.

It was discovered that the pouches contained crispy onion strips instead of tortilla strips.

The onion strips contain wheat which is not listed on the label.

The undeclared allergen could cause serious or even-life threatening allergic reactions to those with sensitivities and allergies.

At this time, no illnesses have been reported, but the recall comes out of an abundance of caution.

The products have a best used date of June 20 and were sold across 22 states including North Carolina.

Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
