Concerns Expressed Over Trump’s Cabinet Picks
Many of them must now be approved by the Senate, although the president-elect has pushed to bypass the typical confirmation process.
There is current controversy over Donald Trump’s cabinet and senior staff picks.
Trump’s selection for attorney general in former Rep. Matt Gaetz has drawn criticism from both sides of the aisle. The GOP was under investigation by the House of Ethics Committee for allegations of sexual misconduct and obstruction.
In addition, Trump’s nomination for defense secretary in Pete Hegseth, has also sparked concerns. the army combat veteran also has an investigation into sexual assaults against him.
Trump’s pick for director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is also being questioned. She reportedly lacks background in intelligence. There are also concerns over her views on Russia and other U.S. adversaries.
Despite concerns, Trump is refusing to back down over his cabinet picks.
