Hoax Bomb Threats Made Against Polling Places
The FBI said the threats in four of the states came from Russian email domains.
Dozens of polling places were forced to shut down Tuesday due to hoax bomb threats.
The threats targeting polling places and election offices briefly disrupted voting in five battleground states.
They were made against at least 50 sites across Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin and Michigan.
No bombs were found and operations continued as normal appearing to have little impact on voting.
The FBI said the threats in four of the states came from Russian email domains. It is unclear where the threat against the fifth state stemmed from.
The Russian Embassy in the U.S. said the accusations are “vicious slander” and “nonsense.”
