FBI Monitoring Election Threats

The FBI is monitoring election threats as voting is set to wrap up.

“This operation is going to run 24/7 for the national election week,” said FBI Deputy Assistant Director James Barnacle.

The deputy said the purpose of the command post is to ensure the agency is ready to respond to any situation that may come.

Election interference has been popping up in the form of fake videos on social media.

Barnacle said Russia, China and Iran have been attempting to influence the U.S. government policy and politics for their benefit. He also warned that the foreign countries will attempt to encourage violent protests in the U.S. following the election.

The nation’s capital is reportedly gearing up with fences and businesses are boarding up, just in case.

However, Barnacle said the FBI is on top of things and working to stay ahead of any threats that is possible.
