Motorcyclist Killed In Crash Involving A Tractor-Trailer

A two-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer claimed the life of one person.

Around 2am Monday morning, a Harley Davidson was heading east on Interstate 20 when it was struck by a Freightliner tractor-trailer that was merging onto the highway from a commercial rest area near mile marker 130.

The drivers of both vehicles were the only occupants. 57-year-old Alpha Nelson was the motorcyclist who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
