Biden Administration Releases New Round Of Student Loan Forgiveness

Borrowers eligible for this recent round of relief should be informed of their canceled debt in the coming weeks.

The Biden administration announced another round of student loan forgiveness.

The latest round of relief forgives $4.5 billion in student debt for over 60,000 borrowers.

It comes as part of the U.S. Department of Education’s fixes to the ‘Public Service Loan Forgiveness’ program.

Under Biden’s administration the number of borrowers to benefit from the program has exceeded one million, which is more forgiven education debt than any U.S. president in history.

Before Biden took office, only 7,000 people ever received the debt relief under the ‘PSLF’ program that first kicked off in 2007.

Borrowers eligible for this recent round of relief should be informed of their canceled debt in the coming weeks.
