The U.S. Air Force used long-range B-2 warplanes to target five underground weapons storage sites that housed various weapons components.

The Houthis have used the weapons against military vessels through the region.

The Iran-backed rebels were attacked over-night after recent incidents targeting American and international shipping vessels in the Red Sea.

For over a year now, Houthis have unlawfully attacked the transiting targets and the U.S. strikes were used to degrade the groups capability to continue their attacks and defend U.S. forces and personnel in one of the world’s most critical waterways.
