SpaceX Successfully Completes Fifth Starship Test Flight

SpaceX’s Starship successfully completed its fifth test flight Sunday.

The spacecraft is the world’s most powerful rocket that Elon Musk is hoping will one day take humans to Mars.

The fifth launch occurred just after 8am from Boca Chica, Texas.

The test flight made history, marking the first time the Starship’s Super Heavy Booster was returned and caught at the launch site.

The next step in testing involves monitoring the rocket’s upper stage as it descends back into Earth’s atmosphere.

During this flight, the upper stage made a controlled reentry to Earth, landing in the Indian Ocean around 9:30am.

The fifth flight test aimed to take the spacecraft “another step toward full and rapid reusability.”
