Donald Trump Proposes Adding 10,000 More Border Patrol Agents
Trump has made illegal immigration the focus of his campaign while blaming his opponent Kamala Harris for a record spike in unauthorized crossings.
Donald Trump announced a proposal Sunday during a rally in Arizona.
The former president proposed hiring an additional 10,000 Border Patrol Agents as well as giving them a $10,000 retention and signing bonus.
Trump said that Border Patrol Agents deserved the higher pay and bonuses. He accepted an endorsement from the agents’ union, the National Border Patrol Council. The union is a longtime Trump backer that endorsed him during his prior two campaigns.
