Marlboro Co. Sheriff Lemon Running As Write-In Candidate
The sheriff was reinstated after a jury found him not guilty of the federal charge.
Marlboro County Sheriff Charles Lemon is running as a write-in candidate.
Lemon returned to work in august after the governor rescinded his suspension.
Lemon was indicted in 2021 in connection with ordering a deputy to excessively shock an inmate with a stun gun at the jail.
The sheriff was reinstated after a jury found him not guilty of the federal charge.
Lemon is now hoping to get enough people to write in his name on the ballot in November. His campaign signs are up all over the county.
