Some Events Postponed Due To Potential Impact Of Hurricane Helene

As Hurricane Helene approaches, some events may be canceled or postponed.

So far, the Beach’N’Chili Fest scheduled for Friday has been canceled due to potential weather impacts.

The community challenge cook off, meant to take place Friday will now take place on Saturday instead.

All festival activities planned for Saturday and Sunday are scheduled as normal.

In addition, the Lumbee Tribe ‘Dance of the Harvest Moon’ Powwow competitions that were set to take place Friday, have been postponed.

The competitions have now been rescheduled with the grand entry for Saturday at noon and the second grand entry at 7pm.

The grand entry on Sunday will still start at 1pm.

Other events in the area may be affected as Helene gets closer.
