Man Arrested After Police Chase Leads To Discovery Of Drugs
The suspect was witnessed throwing baggies containing marijuana out of the car as he was driving.
One man now faces charges after leading Horry County police on a chase.
On Tuesday, 26-year-old Ali Spivey failed to stop for an officer attempting to conduct a traffic stop.
A grey Mustang was spotted in a community on Loop Circle along Highway 905.
The driver and the passenger reportedly switched seats before taking off. Spivey, now in the driver seat, reached up to 80-miles-per-hour as the officer followed him.
The suspect was witnessed throwing baggies containing marijuana out of the car as he was driving.
The passenger eventually jumped out of the moving vehicle and ran into a wooded area. The officer lost sight of them but continued to follow Spivey.
The chase ended when he drove into the yard of a home off Highway 905. Police then searched the car and found 55-grams of marijuana.
Spivey was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute and failure to stop for blue lights.
