12-Year-Old Arrested After Making Threats Against Georgetown Co. School
Officers reported to a home on Ford Village Road where the student was detained and admitted his actions.
A 12-year-old now faces charges after threats were made against Carvers Bay Middle School in Georgetown County.
The student was arrested after sending a photo of a gun as well as threats to shoot up the school. Another student informed a parent after they received the photo through text messages.
School safety officials were made aware of the threat around 6am Tuesday.
Officers reported to a home on Ford Village Road where the student was detained and admitted his actions.
The student’s mother cooperated with investigators and surrendered the pictured gun.
No additional evidence was found during a search of the home.
The school continued operating on a normal schedule.
Tuesday’s arrest is at least the fifth threat against a Georgetown County school since late August.
