Man Charged In The Death Of His Longtime-Girlfriend

A verbal argument reportedly led up to the shooting and the victim's injuries indicate she was shot from behind and that a physical altercation also occurred.

One man has been charged in the shooting death of his girlfriend.

On Tuesday, Horry County police responded to a home on Alice Drive in the Loris-area.

Upon arrival, 43-year-old Tyronda Bellamy was found with a gunshot wound in the back bedroom of her home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kenyarta Smith has now confessed that he pulled the trigger on the gun which he claimed belonged to him.

A verbal argument reportedly led up to the shooting and the victim’s injuries indicate she was shot from behind and that a physical altercation also occurred.

Smith now faces charges of murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and several others including drug charges.

Bellamy and Smith were a couple who were together for eight years and lived together.

An investigation is still underway.
