Around midnight on September 1, Horry County Police responded to a residence on Terrace View Court on reports of a shooting.

13-year-old Jaiden Smalls died from the injuries sustained in the shooting.

The unnamed 15-year-old has now been charged with involuntary manslaughter. They were taken to the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice.

No additional charges are expected.
