Hurricane Florence Leaves Hundreds Of Thousands Without Power
Francine rapidly lost much of its power as it moved over land and gradually downgraded to a tropical storm late Wednesday night.
Hurricane Francine made landfall in Louisiana Wednesday as a Category 2.
The storm knocked out electricity to hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses and threatened widespread flooding as it sent a storm surge inland along the Gulf Coast.
Francine rapidly lost much of its power as it moved over land and gradually downgraded to a tropical storm late Wednesday night.
Over 382,000 customers were without power across Louisiana as of this morning while around 61,000 were without power in Mississippi.
The tropical storm has now been reclassified as a tropical depression with winds below 38mph.
It is expected to turn northward and slow down within the next day or so, while weakening even more.
Francine will likely become a post-tropical cyclone later on Thursday.
