Arrest Made In Shooting Incident That Left One Person Dead

The incident happened shortly before 1am on Saturday on Mt. Zion Church Road in Red Springs.

One person has been arrested in connection to a shooting that left one person dead and another injured.

The incident happened shortly before 1am on Saturday on Mt. Zion Church Road in Red Springs.

19-year-old James Lowery later died at a hospital from gunshot wounds and another person was transported to a hospital with injuries. Their condition is unknown.

20-year-old James Hardin was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, inflicting serious bodily injury and several other charges.

The suspect is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.

More arrests are expected as an investigation is underway.
