College Campus Locked Down After Discovery Of Two Bodies

A note found at the scene indicated the pair has been in a troubled romantic relationship.

A college campus was shook after a death occurred on the first day of classes.

A student of Rice University in Houston was found dead in her dorm room Monday.

The body of junior student, Andrea Avila, was discovered by university police after a concerned family member asked for a wellness check and officers noticed she missed class.

It was discovered the student died in an apparent murder-suicide. The suspected shooter was an unidentified male who didn’t appear to be affiliated with the university. He was also found dead in the room from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A note found at the scene indicated the pair has been in a troubled romantic relationship.

The discovery of the bodies prompted a campus-wide lock-down and cancellation of all remaining classes and activities Monday.
