Body Of 15-Year-Old Missing Swimmer Found Washed Ashore

The deceased victim was identified as 15-year-old Edwin Gonzalez-Rosendo.

The body of a missing swimmer was recovered Sunday in Myrtle Beach.

Shortly before 5:30pm on Saturday, two swimmers were reportedly in distress in the area of 12th Avenue South.

Lifeguards, ocean rescue and beach patrol swimmers entered the water to help the victims.

One of the swimmers was rescued, but their condition is unknown at this time.

A search to locate the other swimmer was also conducted, however, their body was found washed ashore shortly after 6:30pm Sunday near 18th Avenue South.

The deceased victim was identified as 15-year-old Edwin Gonzalez-Rosendo. He was visiting from Shannon, North Carolina.

The identity of the other victim has not been revealed.
