Man Facing Charges Following Fatal Crash in Horry County

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.

A man is now facing charges after a fatal crash occurred in Horry County.

The head-on collision unfolded on East Highway 9 just before 11:00pm on Friday. 17-year-old Sean Herd was traveling south on the highway when a Jeep traveling north struck him near the intersection at Ferrell Road.

Both vehicles caught fire as a result. The teen died at the scene from blunt trauma. 36-year-old Seth Rosen was the driver of the Jeep. He was hospitalized and charged with felony DUI.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
