LAKE CITY: Mr. Andrew Jackson “Carolina Slim” Cook, 67, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 30th, 2010 in his home. Mr. Cook was born in Florence County on June 1st, 1943. He was a son of the late Jack Cranston Cook, Sr. and the late Mattie Mae Parker Cook. Mr. Cook was a very outgoing person. He was a very skilled billiards player, loved listening to music, and liked to dance. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Mr. Cook‘s surviving family includes his three children, Jacklin Cook, of Lexington, Trevor Michael Cardigan, of Idaho, and Andrew J. Rogers (Crystal), of Timmonsville; his two grandchildren, Christian and Hayden Rogers, both of Timmonsville; and his sister, Oral Jean Abernathy. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his brother, Lavon Cook. The family of Mr. Cook will have visitation from one until two o‘clock p.m., Saturday, November 6th, 2010 in the funeral home. Memorial services for Mr. Cook will be held at two o‘clock p.m., Saturday, November 6th, 2010 in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.
