“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclesiastes 3: 1 A Time to be Born . . . . Then God created a special person with a warm, loving heart and a kind and generous spirit . . . And God saw that the person was good, and there was morning, and there was evening, a beautiful day in the Savannah Grove Community; the birth of baby girl Beatrice Jackson. She was the oldest of eleven children born to the late Sidney “Sid” and Gladys Charles Jackson. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Mary Daniels Cussac; and four brothers, Sidney Jackson, Jr., Herbert Jackson, Willie Lee Jackson and Charles Jackson. A Time to Grow . . . . Mrs. Beatrice Williamson, affectionately called “Bea”, was reared in the Savannah Grove Community. She attended Savannah Grove Elementary School, Wilson High School, Claflin University, Orangeburg, SC, and Morris College, Sumter, SC. She did further study at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC. A Time to Worship . . . . Mrs. Williamson demonstrated her love for the Lord in the acceptance of Him as her Lord and Savior, and united with Savannah Grove Baptist Church at an early age. A Time to Love . . . . Mrs. Williamson was united in holy matrimony to the late Matthew W. Williamson, Sr. on January 18, 1942. They were blessed with one child, Matthew W. Williamson, Jr., who preceded her in death. “Junior”, as he was affectionately called, was the love of her life. A Time to Service . . . . Mrs. Williamson was faithful in the execution of her duties and responsibilities. She served as a member of the Usher Board, Missionary Circles #1 and #2, United Workers, Finance Committee, and Church Clerk for 54 years. A Time to Work . . . . Mrs. Williamson retired after 36 years of dedicated service to the students of Savannah Grove Elementary School, Florence District One. She was an inspiration to her students and had high expectations for their success. She was efficient, well organized and committed. Her Motto was; “Tell the Truth and Stay in the Church!” She was also a member of Florence County Education Association (Retired), the South Carolina Education Association (Retired), National Education Association (Retired), an Alumni supporter of Claflin University, and a member of the Silver Star Tent #4. A Time to Die . . . . The trumpet sounded on Monday, October 18, 2010, at 9:20 p.m., calling “Aunt Bea” from labor to reward. this part put in Italic “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. No one is dead as long as they are remembered by loved ones. The memories of Mrs. Beatrice Jackson Williamson’s life will be tenderly cherished by: five sisters, Miriam Fred of Detroit, MI; Gladys Pygatt of Philadelphia, PA; Annie Mae Ham of Effingham, SC; Dorothy McDaniel of Florence, SC, and Clemmie Williams of Brooklyn, NY; one sister-in-law, Doretha Jackson of Chester, PA; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends who were all influenced by the “Touch of a Master Teacher!”
