Woman Who Was Fatally Stabbed At Myrtle Beach Bus Station Was Asleep

The suspect was located shortly after wearing the same clothes he had on during the stabbing, which camera footage revealed.

We now have further details on a fatal stabbing incident that occurred in Myrtle Beach over the weekend.

Shortly after 1am on Saturday, police were called to a bus transfer station on 10th Avenue North for reports of the stabbing.

Upon arrival, 55-year-old Jeanette Harding was found dead at the scene.

Warrants show that during the investigation, police spoke to witnesses, reviewed surveillance footage in the area and discovered Harding was asleep when the suspect killed her.

33-year-old Michael Mateo was seen fleeing the scene. He was located shortly after the incident wearing the same clothes he had on during the stabbing, which camera footage revealed.

Mateo is currently being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond.
