Israeli Ministers Threaten To Bring Down Govt. If Biden’s Peace Plan Is Accepted
President Biden said Hamas has been put down to a point where it can no longer carry out the type of attack seen on October 7 which launched the war.
Two far-right Israeli ministers threatened to resign and bring down the governing coalition of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The threats come after President Biden revealed what he called a three-phase Israeli proposal aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza and releasing hostages in a “full and complete cease-fire.”
In a speech delivered at the White House, President Biden said Hamas has been put down to a point where it can no longer carry out the type of attack seen on October 7 which launched the war. He added that Israel’s war goals have been met.
The Israeli ministers threats apply if Netanyahu accepts the peace proposal after claiming they are not ready for a cease fire.
Netanyahu has also signaled he is not ready either, meaning he could dismiss the president’s proposal.
