Stormy Daniels’ Testimony Wraps Up In Trump’s Hush Money Trial

Stormy Daniels alleges her and Trump had a sexual encounter in 2006 and was paid off to keep quiet about the affair.

The testimony of Stormy Daniels wrapped up Thursday in Donald Trump’s criminal hush money trial.

Daniels alleges her and Trump had a sexual encounter in 2006 and was paid off to keep quiet about the affair. The former president is accused of falsifying financial records to cover up the said payments.

Trump’s attorney’s claim Daniels had financial motivation regarding speaking out about the alleged encounter years later. Daniels pushed back on claims she was untruthful about the encounter, stating that the story is true, even as she was confronted with inconsistencies in some of the small details of her account.

Trump’s attorneys attempted to file two separate motions. One was for a mistrial based on the argument that Daniels changed her story about the alleged encounter. The other sought a modification on a gag order so Trump could talk publicly about daniels. Judge Juan Merchan denied both of the defense’s motions.

The trial will resume on Monday with the prosecution’s key witness, Michael Cohen.
