Trump’s Classified Documents Trial Postponed Indefinitely

The judge's new schedule lays out all the legal disputes she must decide before a jury could hear the case.

A judge has indefinitely postponed his classified documents trial in Florida.

Tuesday, Judge Aileen Cannon cancelled the initial May trial date, citing significant issues around classified evidence that would need to be worked out before the criminal case goes to a jury.

The judge’s new schedule lays out all the legal disputes she must decide before a jury could hear the case. It was said there are eight pending motions she has yet to decide.

Cannon added that the process could take at least until late July of this year. However, a new official trial date has not been set.

In this case, Trump is charged with mishandling classified documents. He’s also accused of working with two co-defendants to obstruct the Justice Department’s investigation. All three have pleaded not guilty.
