Small Town In Oklahoma Struck By Second Tornado In Five Weeks
A warning early Monday informed residents that a large tornado with wind gusts up to 70 miles-per-hour was heading toward the town.
Severe weather across several states prompted another tornado outbreak.
17 reports of tornadoes were recorded Monday in the central part of the U.S.. Eight of the twisters were in Oklahoma alone.
One tornado ripped through the small town of Barnsdall where at least 30 to 40 homes were damaged. One person died in the 1,000-person town and at least one is missing.
This is the second tornado to hit Barnsdall in five weeks. A warning early Monday informed residents that a large tornado with wind gusts up to 70 miles-per-hour was heading toward the town. However, information on the tornado’s size and how far it traveled was not immediately available.
A survey team is heading out Tuesday to evaluate damage in several areas including Barnsdall.
