New York Man Arrested After Road Rage Shooting Incident In Horry Co.

The victim said she reached speeds up to 70 mph trying to flee but the suspect kept up and shot at her again.

A New York man is facing charges after an apparent road rage shooting in Horry County.

Shortly before 8pm Tuesday, police responded to the area of Highway 501 and Cox Ferry Road on reports of shots fired.

A victim informed officers that she was driving in heavy traffic and noticed a vehicle tailgating her.

The woman flipped off the driver which prompted Anthony Simmons Jr. to draw a pistol and fire shots at her.

The woman then attempted to separate herself from him, but failed, due to traffic and Simmons continued to follow her. She was on the phone with 911 when he shot at her again.

The victim said she reached speeds up to 70 mph trying to flee but he kept up and shot at her again. She then drove to the Conway Police Department.

Simmons was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
