Michael W. Hampton

LAKE CITY: Mr. Michael Wayne “Hambone” Hampton, 48, died Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Lake City Community Hospital after an illness. Michael was born November 10, 1961, in Las Vegas, Nevada, a son of June Gause Hampton and the late Will H. Hampton. He was a 1980 graduate of Lake City High School, a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of High Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving besides his mother, June G. Hampton of Scranton, are: two sisters, Shelia H. Knotts and her husband, Tommy of Scranton and Donna H. DuBose and her husband, Kent of Lake City; brother, Mitchell H. Hampton and his wife, Kim of Manning; his nieces and nephews, Erik Knotts and his wife, Sarah, Alex Knotts, Lindsey K. Johnson and her husband, Ryan, Lisa K. Evans and her husband, Josh, Samantha Williams and Teddy Williams; his great-nephew Reese Evans; step-children, Michael Calcutt of Florence and Emily Holloman of California; and special friend, Ann Fryar Thigpen and her daughter, Acacia, of Lake City. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 16, 2010, at High Hill Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
