UNC Pembroke Tightens Up Security Measures After Fatal Shootings
Students returned from spring break Monday to a much safer campus as now UNC Pembroke police have jurisdiction to respond and patrol off-campus housing locations.

Students returned from spring break Monday to a much safer campus as now UNC Pembroke police have jurisdiction to respond and patrol off-campus housing locations.
There’s also a newly implemented zero-tolerance policy for unauthorized gatherings.
In addition, a ban of any unauthorized weapons has now been placed on all four off-campus housing complexes, punishable by eviction, legal charges and school disciplinary action for violators.
The changes come after two separate shooting incidents near the school’s campus resulted in several deaths.
