Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu To Move Forward With Military Offensive In Rafah

President Biden has warned Israeli leaders that a ground invasion in Rafah would be crossing a "red line."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced he will move forward with a military offensive in Rafah.

Nearly 1.5 million displaced Palestinians are sheltering in the southern Gaza city. Many of which are experiencing catastrophic levels of hunger and lack of aid.

President Biden has warned Israeli leaders that a ground invasion in Rafah would be crossing a “red line.”

The United Nations aid chief has also warned the move could lead to “a slaughter.”

Despite the warnings, Netanyahu is standing firm on sending his military into the region, though he did not provide a specific timeline.

The Biden administration is not anticipating that Israeli forces will invade the region immediately, but a plan is in the works.
