Partial Government Shutdown Looms As Lawmakers Fail To Reach Deal

Congressional leaders are pointing fingers as both sides fail to agree on a bipartisan deal to avoid a partial government shutdown.
Leaders hoped to have legislation ready over the weekend but both sides explained more work is needed to reach a compromise.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer placed blame on House Republicans claiming the party needs to get serious and sort themselves out.
House Speaker Mike Johnson pushed back on Schumer. He claims the House has worked nonstop to reach an agreement, but Democrats keep adding demands that were not previously included in the Senate bills.
