Senate Officially Passes Aid Package Measure
22 Republicans voted with nearly all Democrats to pass the package with a 70-29 vote.
Early Tuesday morning, the Senate officially passed a $95.3 billion aid package.
The package includes $60 billion for Ukraine, $14 billion in security assistance for Israel, $9 billion in humanitarian assistance for Gaza, the West Bank and Ukraine, as well as $4.8 billion to support U.S. allies in the Indo-Pacific.
A small group of Republicans who opposed the bill argued the U.S. should focus on its own problems before sending more money overseas.
Despite the opposers, 22 Republicans voted with nearly all Democrats to pass the package with a 70-29 vote.
The approval means the package will now be sent to the House for a vote where it faces an uncertain future.
