Former UNCP Student Shot And Killed Near Campus

The victim succumbed to their injuries on the scene. Their identity has not been publicly revealed but UNCP confirmed the deceased was a former student.

A former University of North Carolina at Pembroke student died following a shooting near the school’s campus.

Around 4:30pm Wednesday, UNCP campus police responded to the Courtyard Apartments on reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers didn’t encounter any shooters but discovered shell casings on the ground.

Shortly after, Robeson County deputies responded to a second incident off campus where they found a person in need of medical attention.
