Hazel Chestnut Miller

CONWAY… Mrs. Hazel Lee Chestnut Miller, age 65, of 14th Avenue passed away Saturday morning, September 18, 2010 at Loris Community Hospital following an illness. Mrs. Miller was born November 1, 1944 in Loris, a daughter of the late Homer Colell Chestnut and the late Lenola Register Chestnut. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She was predeceased by her two brothers: Homer Coleman Chestnut and Homer Tyson Chestnut, Sr. Mrs. Miller‘s first husband, John Thelton Chestnut passed away in 1969 and she worked very hard to raise her children on her own and was a very devoted and loving mother. She later remarried and was a faithful and loving sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her three children: Kathy Chestnut Mishoe and her husband Wendell of Loris, Randy Chestnut, Sr. and his wife Billie of Conway, and Debbie Chestnut Bargiol and her husband Jason, Sr. of Conway, two sisters: Mildred Stevens of Conway and Margaret Rhodes and her husband Harold of Loris, six grandchildren: Russell Mishoe and his wife Heather, Randy Chestnut, Jr., Kayla C. Strickland and her husband Tommy, Jennie Cassidy and Travis, Samantha Cassidy, and Jason “Jay” Bargiol, Jr., and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, September 20, 2010 from 7-9 PM at Ward Funeral Home in Loris and at other times at the home of the daughter, Kathy Mishoe, Macedonia Dr., Loris. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Miller will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 3:00 PM from the Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Chestnut and the Rev. John Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Regency Hospice, 11943 Grandhaven Drive, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
