Man Arrested In Connection To Decades Old Rape Case Through DNA

In 2022, 36-year-old Jacob Williamson, was arrested in South Carolina for an offense that required him to submit his DNA upon his conviction.

DNA results led to the arrest of a man in connection to a decades old case.

In 2022, 36-year-old Jacob Williamson, was arrested in South Carolina for an offense that required him to submit his DNA upon his conviction.

After the submission, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said they received a combined DNA index system hit for Williamson which identified him as the suspect in a rape incident that occurred in 2004.

Deputies then further investigated by additional DNA testing and obtaining warrants for Williamson. He was arrested on Monday and is now detained on a $50,000 secured bond.
