Russia Blames Ukraine For Downing Of Military Plane
The plane was carrying 74 people, including 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war, a crew of six and three other passengers, none of which survived the crash.
Russia’s defense ministry has accused Ukrainian forces of shooting down a military transport plane on Wednesday.
The plane was carrying 74 people, including 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war, a crew of six and three other passengers, none of which survived the crash. The prisoners were in route with intentions of being swapped.
Ukrainian officials have not yet confirmed or denied responsibility though Russia alleges its radar registered the launch of two missiles from Ukraine but has not provided evidence to back that claim.
If fighting between the two regions continues, February 24th would mark two years since Russia’s attempt to take over Ukraine territory.
