Closing Arguments For Trump’s New York Fraud Trial Were Delivered In Court

The attorney general’s office argued in its closing presentation that Trump “acted with intent” to fraudulently inflate the value of his assets in his financial statements.

Closing arguments were delivered Thursday for Donald Trump’s New York civil fraud trial.

The attorney general’s office argued in its closing presentation that Trump “acted with intent” to fraudulently inflate the value of his assets in his financial statements. The office is seeking $370 million in its claim, alleging that his fraudulent statements allowed him to obtain loans and insurance at more favorable rates.

Trump’s attorneys accused the New York attorney general of a political vendetta against the former president. They declare the entire case is meant to serve a political agenda, claiming there is no proof that Trump submitted any fraudulent statements.

Trump has maintained his innocence throughout this case.

A ruling is expected to be delivered by the end of January.
