Francis Marvin Hudgins
Loris… Mr. Francis Marvin Hudgins, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Loris on Monday, September 27, 2010. He was born June 19, 1929 in Gates County, NC a son of the late James Wright Hudgins, Sr. and the late Julia Brown Hudgins. Mr. Hudgins was a lifelong member of Masonic Widow‘s Son Lodge #13 in Camden, NC. He was a Civil War historian and loved to entertain his family by telling stories that everyone enjoyed, especially his grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as “Pa.” Mr. Hudgins is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mariana C. Hudgins, originally from Oxford, NC, and presently of Loris, one daughter, Cynthia Hudgins of Spartanburg, SC, one son, Stuart R. Hudgins and his wife Lucinda of Southern Shores, NC, his grandchildren, Shannon L. Cecil of Spartanburg, SC, Andrew A. Cecil and his wife Christina of Colorado Springs, CO, Leslie A. Cecil-Temple and her husband Frank of Port Orange, FL, First Lieutenant Jonathan W. Hudgins of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC, and Kaitlyn M. Hudgins, a Junior at Wake Forest University, and his sister, Julia Brown Vogeley of Yorktown, VA. A Service to Celebrate his Life will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Ward Funeral Home Chapel.
