Christine Murray

Very quietly and peacefully on Sunday morning, September 26, 2010, the Spirit of Christine Murray took flight at the call of the Heavenly Father to that mansion prepared by an all wise and loving God. Ms. Christine Murray was born October 11, 1921 in Darlington County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Henry Wilson and Lula Bell Lewis Wilson. Ms. Murray was married to the late Junious Murray. She was educated in the public schools of Darlington County. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. She served on the Missionary Society and was Mother of the Church. Ms. Christine Murray was a hard and dedicated worker. She was employed with the Darlington County School District as a Food Service Worker for 21 years. She retired in June of 1994. Ms. Murray had a passion and love for cooking and flowers. She took pride in making some of the best cakes in town. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by one of her sons, Leroy Junious Murray. Surviving to cherish the memory and maintain the legacy of Ms. Christine Murray is her three daughters, Earnestine (Raymond) Cosom, and Odessa (Willie) McFadden both of Hartsville, SC, and Shirley (Alexander) Moore of Lydia, SC; a son, Willie Murray of Hartsville, SC; two brothers, Walter Wilson of Aiken, SC and Bennie Lee Wilson of Jersey City, NJ; three sisters, Hennie Wilson of Jersey City, NJ, Jeanette Wilson, and Valene Wilson both of Brooklyn, NY; a daughter-in-law, Mary E Murray of Hartsville, SC; four sisters-in-law, Francina (Jim) Jackson of Darlington, SC, Elease Johnson of Patterson, NJ, Mae Frances Wilson of Jersey City, NJ, and Thomasina Giles of Brooklyn, NY; five special god daughters, Catherine Moore, Cindy Dickey, Grace Cooper, May Willis Jackson, and Angela Murray; two special god sons, Jimmy Addison and Johnny Austin, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and a host of dearly loved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and very dear friends.
