Betty Joyce Hammond Haats

Betty Joyce Hammond Haats, 73, of Henry Hammond Rd in Saddletree departed this life on – September 2010 at her home surrounded by family. She is the daughter of the late Henry and Lelar J Hammond. She was preceded in her departure by a son Blake Duane Haats, 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Sunday – September 12, 2010, 3PM, at the Saddletree Church of God officiated by Rev. Kenneth Locklear and Rev. Don Chavis. Burial will follow in the S.A. Hammond Family Cemetery on Rennert Road, Lumberton. She leaves behind her husband of 54 years Albert J. Haats of the home; her five “boys” Jeffrey Rory Haats of the home, A. Anthony “Poncho” Haats of Atlanta GA, Carl Wayne Haats of Fayetteville, Donald Ray Haats and wife/daughter in heart Jacqueline of Lumberton and Anthony Blake Haats of Greenville. Her daughter Teresa Gail Locklear and husband Stevie of Lumberton. A sister Glenda Fay Phillips and husband Glenn of Shreveport LA. A sister, cousin, and best friend, Doris Hall of Lumberton. She has 15 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. She also has two welcomed sons in her life, Rick Ransom and Glenn Laviolette and two welcomed grandsons Richard Sheats and Christopher Jacobs all of Lumberton. Betty was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and will be truly missed by all that knew her. The family also gives a very special thanks to her hospice team Becky Oxendine and Karen Locklear. Visitation will be Saturday – September 11, 2010 from 7 until 9 PM at Biggs Funeral Home in Lumberton and all other times at the family home at 725 Henry Hammond Rd in Lumberton.
