Marguerite Suzanne DeMaurice Peterson

3/28/1924 – 9/29/2010 Florence- Marguerite Suzanne DeMaurice Peterson age 86, died Wednesday September 29, 2010 at her Methodist Manor residence. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Darlington Presbyterian Church with interment in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born March 28, 1924 in Darlington County, she was the daughter of the late Rene William “Frenchy” DeMaurice and Laura May Flanigan DeMaurice. She graduated from St. John‘s High School and attended Limestone College. Following college, Suzanne was a secretary for J.P. Brunson and worked for the town clerk, John H. Peterson. She enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends, and she loved her Methodist Manor family. Mrs. Peterson was an active member of Darlington Presbyterian Church and also an active Circle member for many years. Surviving are her two sons: Jim (Mincy) Peterson of Florence and John (Robyn) Peterson of Cary, NC; three grandsons: J.C. Peterson, Kyle Peterson and Trey Peterson; one brother, Wallace (Nancy) DeMaurice of North Charleston, also a brother-in-law, Harrell Peterson of Fort Washington, MD and nephews and nieces: Dicky Bryant ,Ervin Bryant, Bubba DeMaurice, Andy DeMaurice, Ann Galloway, Robin Harris, Marsha Peterson, Susan Peterson, Sarah Gaede, Danny Peterson, Kelly Peterson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Marie DeMaurice and her brother R. W. “Billy” DeMaurice, Jr. A memorial service will be 4:00 P.M. Friday, October 1 in the Methodist Manor Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service and other times at the home of Jim and Mincy Peterson 2711 Trotter Rd. Florence, SC 29501.
