A recall has been placed on several Mid America Pet Food brands.
The FDA and CDC issued the recall on Thursday, urging pet owners to discard all recalled dog and cat food involved. The brands include, ‘Victor Super Premium Dog Food’, ‘Wayne Feeds Dog Food’, ‘Member’s Mark’, ‘Victor Super Premium Cat Food’ and ‘Wayne Feeds Gold Cat Food’.
The recall was placed after seven cases of salmonella across seven states were reported. Six of those diagnosed are less than 1-year-old and the outbreak has so far resulted in one hospitalization.
