Best Buy Issues A Recall On Pressure Cookers Sold Nationwide
The retailer has received 31 reports of the cooker's contents being expelled under pressure, 17 people have reported burn injuries, some second degree and severe.
Best Buy has issued a recall on 930,000 pressure cookers sold nationwide.
The recall has been placed due to a defect that can cause hot food and liquid to eject from the products thus posing the risks of burning people near-by.
The Insignia Multi-Function Electric Pressure Cookers have incorrect volume markings in their inner pots, which can cause overfilled contents to spill out.
The retailer has received 31 reports of the cooker’s contents being expelled under pressure, 17 people have reported burn injuries, some second degree and severe.
The products were sold at Best Buy stores and on-line from October 2017 to June 2023. Those who purchased the recalled cookers should stop using them and contact Best Buy for a replacement of the inner pot and floating valve for signaling pressure.
