The price hike comes as increases in health care spending are expected. Another factor includes the payments that the agency has proposed making to hospitals that usually serve larger shares of disadvantage patients.
In addition, the annual Part B deductible will rise to $240 next year which is an increase of $14. Medicare Part B covers physician services, outpatient hospital services, certain home health services, durable medical equipment and certain other medical and health services not covered by Medicare Part A.
