Former School Bus Driver Charged After Closing Bus Door On Child’s Arm
The child's mother shared that her daughter was standing on the stairs with her arm stuck outside, crying and pleading the driver to open the door.
A former school bus driver in Horry County is facing charges after allegedly neglecting a child.
On August 25th, 68-year-old Thomas Interlandi allegedly closed the door of the bus while a child’s arm was in the door and continued driving the bus in reverse to a previous stop. He was arrested on September 13th and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child but, was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
The warrant states Interlandi closed the door and ‘clearly observed’ the child’s arm was stuck in it before reversing. The child’s mother shared that her daughter was standing on the stairs with her arm stuck outside, crying and pleading the driver to open the door.
The child is okay physically but the situation reportedly ‘traumatized’ her.
The incident was caught on camera and Interlandi is no longer a bus driver but, it’s unclear if that’s because he was fired or he quit.
