The phrase “girl math” is a new trend taking social media by storm this summer.  It all started on TikTok and is gaining popularity online, particularly among women.   The term is being used to justify lavish purchases, everything from hot pink outfits for the “Barbie” movie to purchasing pricey Taylor Swift tickets. “Girl math” involves breaking down the price of costly items to justify the extravagant purchase.   One user says “If i paid cash, nothing came out of my account, so that was basically free money.”  Anther example is making installment payments when the bills are typically delayed a few weeks after a purchase, and are interest-free.
